Code Enforcement is comprised of three divisions: Electrical, Elevator, and Boiler Divisions. Their primary objectives are:
- the administration of Arkansas' laws governing the licensing and work of electricians in the state; and
- to witness testing, ensure all elevators are in compliance with all applicable codes, issue permits, elevator inspections, and issue certificates of operation for all elevators in the state; and
- to protect the public from the inherent dangers prevailing in the construction, installation, operation and repair of pressure vessels by the enforcement of the appropriate sections of the various codes formulated by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and enforcement of the rules and regulations of the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors Code adopted by the Boiler Division.
